Talking about I Need U – BTS

Hello friends! 🙂

After my Favorite K-pop Songs of 2014 post (which was very, very late hehe oops) I am back with a new Talking about! Finally! 😀 So glad to have the time and freedom to finally post again! After my 9 month break, I’ve missed  lot of good songs, and a lot of good songs as well, but I’ll be talking about a (fairly) recent song, and that is I Need U by BTS! Check out the music video here! I’ve talked about BTS before in a few other posts so check those out if you want to know a little bit more about my opinion. 🙂 Let’s get right into talking about this one!

Song: AWESOME. This song is fantastic and I loved it the first time I heard it. 🙂 As of now, this song is definitely my favorite, if not one of my favorites, out of all BTS songs. I mean it! 😀 I am really enjoying this song! From my previous experience with BTS (which I’m sure many of you probably are more familiar with), the style of this song doesn’t necessarily fit that of their other songs. Regardless, I think the sound is unique, the vocals are great, the rapping is awesome, and all of this culminates into an amazing song! 🙂 I really do recommend this song if you haven’t heard it already. It exceeded my expectations and has been a crucial part of my iTunes playlist. 😉 The fact that it’s super catchy also explains why I’ve been listening to it so often. Let me know if you agree with me, and if you love the song as much as I do. 😀

Music Video: First impression I had of it was that it looks really cool! I like how it doesn’t use the closed boxes and unusual rooms that most K-pop videos use (although I have been noticing that more and more of them are steering away from this.) It just looks really cool, and they look really good might I add haha. Another interesting thing I noticed about this music video is that there isn’t any dancing in the video, which is again not very common. The video flaunts a very cinematic look to it and this makes it different from the other videos. Not 100% positive about the storyline, although I do get a general sense of what it is. Overall, super cool locations, awesome looking shots, and great looking people. 😉 I really like the mood the video is setting and the look it’s sporting!

LOVE the song, and the video is great! 🙂 Also (in a little extra information), I am LOVING their new album 화양연화! It’s sooo good! Although I really like the title track, the others are just as awesome and catchy. 🙂 If you liked the song, you should definitely give a listen to the album as well. I was happily surprised by this new album BTS released, and it makes me look forward to the songs they’ll release in the future. I’m curious to know what you guys thought of it! BTS fans, let me know what you guys think! A music video for Dope was also released recently, so I’ll talk about it quickly here instead of writing a whole new post. The song is awesome! I love the jazzy feel it has, as well as how groovy it is. I also think that the choreography is pretty dope 🙂 Great songs, performance, and album from a great group!

I’ll be back with a new post soon, but until then, hugs from your fellow k-popper! ❤

Talking about Too-G – BTL

Hi guys! It’s time for another Talking about, and today’s post will be on the new debut release by BTL, called Too-G! There has been a flood of music videos lately and I’m not keeping up as consistently as I would want to be with those, so I apologize about that and I’ll try to mention as many of them as I can! 😀 I’m trying to go by chronological order and BTL was next on my list (hence, why I’m talking about them now!) I wanted to mention them, despite the fact that I’m not too familiar with them, because I want to see from what point they’ve started, and to what point they progressed later (Is that weird?). Okay, done with the rambling, let’s get to it!

BTL (aka Beyond The Limit) is a group under Kiroy Entertainment with 9 members, which are Jisu, Yua, Robin, Jean Paul, Max, Jay, QL, Doka, and Allen. I couldn’t really find much information about them, as it has been only a few days since this release, so comment if you have anything to add! 🙂

I said I’d be done with the rambling, but I actually do have some other things to talk about, hehe. 🙂 I was reading the comments of the music video (as I tend to do, because I like reading other people’s opinions) and I noticed that there was a lot of disagreement, fighting, varied opinions, and comparisons with other groups going on. I hope my opinions don’t offend anyone, as these are obviously not my intentions, and that we can, instead of fighting, discuss it together 😀 Haha, but anyways, now let’s go to talking about the song!

Song: At first, I wasn’t really sure of my opinions about it and I didn’t really know if I liked it or not, but by the second listen I definitely began to appreciate it more. There is an overall very powerful, strong style to it and I guess this was a little difficult for me to approach at first. What really amazed me, however, was how powerful and amazing their vocals were, especially in the (very) high notes, not to mention that their voices weren’t overpowered by the loud, strong instrumentation. It has a slightly catchy chorus, and overall it’s a very interesting song! One little detail that I dislike is the rap part that comes in 2:28, not because it’s not cool, (I actually do like it as a part by itself), but I just don’t think it’s fitting to the powerfulness the song was building up before, or just the melody itself, but that’s only my opinion. It’s a cool song and their singing was definitely the highlight for me. What did you guys think? Let me know!

Music Video: The music video… is a slightly different story. 😛 The first thing I noticed (just because it was in the beginning) was the crow, and as the video went on, the CGI became very apparent to me. Of course, I’m not an expert in this area by any means, but by my opinion, it looked not as natural as it maybe could’ve been, especially for the running scenes. Also, the lens flares, among other effects, like filters or the blur, were a little bit distracting and kept my focus away from the members or what was happening. On the other hand, their dancing was pretty cool (although obviously I couldn’t see all of it) so I will be looking forward to that in their live performances! In general, it was an okay video. 😛

Overall, I liked the song and the music video was meh, in my opinion. Would I download the song? Maybe 😛 Bot because it’s bad, but because I don’t know if I’d actually listen to it if I were to. I will look forward to their live performances, and I’m hoping that in the future, they will release beautiful, emotional songs that will be able to showcase their great voices. 🙂 Anyways, thank you so much for reading and I’ll try my best to talk about as many of the recent releases as I can! Can you guess who’s release will be next? 🙂

Hugs from your fellow K-Popper! ❤

Talking about Phone – 100%

Hello everyone!

I’m back with another post! I’ve been really stressed this week, so hopefully writing this post and talking to you guys will make me feel better! 🙂 Today’s post is a Talking about, which I haven’t done in a while, on 100%’s new release called Phone! Click here to watch it. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this release is to finish off their promotions of Beat! What are my opinions? Keep reading to find out!

A picture of all 7 members! Image taken from officiallykmusic.com. All rights go to the respective owners!

100% is a group under TOP Media, and although they originally had 7 members, Sanghoon and Minwoo have left the group for the promotions of Beat. They currently are promoting as a 5 member group with Rokhyun, Chanyong, Changbum, Hyukjin, and Jonghwan. They debuted in 2012.

Song: Very different from their other song, Beat (which you can check out here!). Speaking of Beat, I actually have a little story to tell you guys really quickly, heh. I was watching their live performance of this song (here’s one) and I was very  impressed, mostly because their vocals were great even while they were doing those intense dance moves (I felt tired for them watching them dance haha! :P). Anyways, the point of this seemingly irrelevant story was to say that I actually think their voices are very charming, and their singing is great, which is more than evident in the song Phone. Because it’s a ballad style, slow song, the instrumentation was much simpler than their previous song and I feel like I focused more on their voices, which again did impress me. 🙂 The song is very pretty, and if you do like ballad songs, you should definitely check it out! This song showed another side of 100%’s music style and personally, the highlight was definitely their great singing. 🙂

Music Video: Well…. It’s kind of hard to talk about this music video because it only consists of behind the scene clips, really.. hehe… But I mean, if you’re a fan, you’ll probably really enjoy the video haha! 😉

Overall, pretty song and a cute (I guess, is this the appropriate word?) video! Would I download the song? Hm… Not really, and this is because I just don’t like this style of ballad songs. :3 It’s not my cup of tea. What are your opinions on it? Let me know in the comments! Thanks so much for reading! 🙂

Talking about Mr.Chu – Apink

Hey everyone! 🙂

There were a lot of music video releases today, and out of those, I decided to talk about Mr. Chu by Apink! Click here to check it out! I really hope you guys are liking the posts, and feel free to leave any comments! I really love talking to you guys hehe 🙂 but anyways, happy Monday! Don’t let school, work, etc. ruin your day! 😀 I hope this video and post will help make your day a little bit better. Let’s go ahead and get started!

Apink is a group under A Cube Entertainment formed in 2011. The members consist of Chorong, Bomi, Eunji, Naeun, Namjoo, and Hayoung.

Song: Very cute song! :3 It’s very light, fun, sweet, not to mention, so adorable! Haha it’s a really catchy song and definitely something that will put you in a better mood, with its positive vibe and upbeat style. Their voices are really nice in the song and I like the chorus part, really fun. I like it! 🙂

Music Video: Just like the song, it’s very fun, sweet, colorful, not to mention very cute! 😀 The song and music video are an adorable match! I really liked the color scheme of the video (is that weird? :P) and their outfits were so pretty, especially that hot pink dress type thing with flowers! Haha, but outfits aside, I thought it was sweet and although I don’t really understand why there were scenes of tennis balls and stuff, it was still pretty overall, not to mention that they looked gorgeous! 🙂

Overall, I liked the cute song and the video! 🙂 Would I download the song? Yeah! What did you think about the song and video? Were you excited for the release? Let me know in the comments!

One thing I DEFINITELY am excited for is Akdong Musician (aka Akmu it seems like as it says in the title of the video), because of the teaser they released today for their debut album! I didn’t really watch the season of K-pop Star that they were in, but my oh my, that was an AMAZING teaser video! I’m excited for their songs, not to mention the music video! What do you guys think? Hope you all have a spectacular day!

Talking about Be a man – MBLAQ

Hello all!

It’s Time To K-pop (heh cheesy), and today’s Talking about is MBLAQ’s Be a man! Yes, they are finally back after Smoky Girl with a new release. Without further ado, let’s get started! 🙂

MBLAQ is looking good, with their classy outfits in the new music video for Be a man! The group has 5 members – G.O, Seungho, Lee Joon, Mir, and Thunder. They debuted in 2009, and are currently contracted under J. Tune Camp.

Song: After various listens, I’m going to have to say that I really enjoyed it! I thought it was different from your usual K-pop song, but by no means in a bad way. 😀 I liked the inclusion of the orchestra – it made the song much prettier. In my opinion, they included a lot of very cool things, such as the guitar, the piano, the creepy “oohs”, and other little background sounds that I thought were nifty :D. The details put into the song were evident to me, and it contributed to my overall opinion of it being a nice song! There were a lot of interesting things going on. I like 😀

Music Video: As for the music video, I thought it was decent. I mean, I did like it, but I didn’t really love it. Does that make sense? I didn’t find it to be an amazing video, but I’ll say this – they look really good in suits. Damn. 😛 Haha, moving on, I thought the shadows on their faces and the walls, by using the blinds was cool and I thought the change of sets through the movement of the camera was awesome. They did a good job of setting the mood of the video and the song as a result, which I did appreciate. Other than that, I’m digging Mir in glasses haha it looks good on him! Visually, there were some cool things, but it wasn’t super interesting, to be honest, but I think it conveys a suiting mood to complement the song.

Overall, I really liked the song, and the video, not so much. Would I download the song? Yes! 🙂 I’m looking forward to their live performances as well! What do you guys think? I know there are a lot of exciting comebacks happening soon, so I’ll try to write about those too! Sorry for the really short post today! Leave me a comment about your opinions! Thanks for checking out today’s post, and I’ll talk to you guys later!

Talking about At First – JJCC

Hi guys! 😀

Welcome back to It’s Time to K-pop! Today’s exciting Talking about is on Jackie Chan’s new K-pop group, JJCC, which (finally) came out today! Click here to watch it if you haven’t already! I personally have been looking forward to their release, because I mean, it’s Jackie Chan! 😛 I’ve watched so many of his movies when I was younger, and to think that he created his own K-pop group? 😮 It made me excited for their release. Despite the many releases that happened today, I decided I had waited long enough to finally talk about this new rookie group!  What were my opinions about their debut release? Keep reading to find out more! 🙂

Image taken from soompi.com. All rights go to the respective owners!

JJCC (pronounced Double JC) is, as I’ve mentioned countless times, Jackie Chan’s K-pop group, which is managed by The Jackie Chan Group Korea. The members consist of SimBa, the leader, (omg I’m not the only one freaking about his name am I) E.Co, Eddy, SanChung and Prince Mak (or Mac, whichever one but I personally find Mak cooler :D). Because they are such a new group, there are many variations on how to spell their names, so I apologize if I got it wrong 😦 Although all the other members are Korean, Prince Mak is a Chinese Australian citizen. Oh, and another thing about the video – Prince Mak isn’t in the video (as you can probably tell since they’re only 4 members) because of injuries, but don’t worry, he’s part of their other schedules. Now that we’re more familiar with the group, let’s get in to the song and the music video!

Song: As for my opinion on the song, I’m going to have to say that I liked it! I was impressed by Eddy, the vocal, as well as the voices of the rappers. Even though it’s a slow song, I guess it’s pretty catchy too, because I caught myself singing it, especially the chorus part. Overall, it was a really nice song, and I’m impressed by it, especially as their debut song.

Music Video: While I did really like the song, I wasn’t in love with the music video. I mean, yes it looked cool and they looked cool too, but I really didn’t find any attempts to actually create a coherent storyline. Take the superpowers for example. When I watched the teaser, I thought they would use it for something super cool, or actually have some purpose behind them, but after watching the music video, it seems  it wasn’t there for any other reason, other than to make them look awesome (which the blue fire in his hand was, I’ll admit :D). I won’t say I disliked it, because that’s not true, but I think they could’ve given us more substance. I don’t know, I just didn’t find it that interesting. :S I will say that I think they do look good and the video in an overall sense does look polished. I might not love it as much as others because I have high standards, and I was really looking forward to this, so I apologize and I want to make it clear that I’m not saying the video is bad! 🙂 Additionally, I do understand that they took this method, of placing emphasis on the members instead of a story, since it is, after all, their debut and they want to get their names out there.

Overall, I thought the song was nice, and the video was cool too, although it maybe could’ve been better?! Yes? No? Let me know in the comments below! Would I download the song? Yeah! 😀 I dig it! (Does anyone even say that anymore?) Thanks so much for reading! Tomorrow’s post might involve MBLAQ or SuperJunior-M, who knows? 😉 So stay tuned!

P.S. Click here if you want to check out their debut stage at M! Countdown 😀

Hugs from your fellow K-popper!

Talking about Beat – 100%

Hello friends! 🙂

Welcome back to another post, and another Talking about, and this one is about 100%’s Beat! I was intending to write a “talking about” on JJCC’s new music video, but it isn’t out yet unfortunately (although I thought it was today) so hopefully I’ll post that tomorrow! As for this post, I’d like to start off by saying that I don’t really know much about 100%, since the only member I know is Sanghoon (who isn’t really a member anymore), but hey, it’s an opportunity for me, and hopefully you if you don’t know them, to get to know them better, and if you already know them, to recommend me some of their other songs! 😀 Anyways, let’s go ahead and talk about it!

Image taken from ohkpop.com. All rights go to the respective owners!

100% is, originally, a 7 member group under Andy’s (from Shinhwa) company Top Media that debuted in September 2012. The members consist of Minwoo, Rokhyun, Jonghwan, Chanyong, Changbum, Hyukjin, and Sanghoon. Minwoo, however, enlisted into the Korean military on March 4th (that is, before their release), and Sanghoon did not join the group for this release, and is taking time off from the group for personal reasons. Because of this, the group released their new song Beat with only 5 members out of the original 7. Shall I begin talking about the song and music video now? 😀

Song: I liked it! 😀 Although I don’t know what type of music 100% usually produces, I really thought this was good! I think their vocals are great, especially at parts 0:24 and 1:25. Their voices are powerful, and these parts were pleasing to listen to. 😀 I think their voices are very fitting for this song, or the song was made to fit their voices. Either way, I thought the vocals worked well! I approve – I thought it was a good song.

Music video: As for the music video, I mean.. uh.. uh… nice? Haha, I honestly was a bit confused by what was happening. What I understood was that there’s this girl that one of the members loves, and while he has flashbacks to then when they were happier and in love, the reality is that he is stuck in some sort of “tank” thing, in a very creepy setting, suffering. Other than this, I’d like to talk about a few details that caught my attention. First of all, I thought the special effects were kinda cheesy, like the blood spurting out and the red lightning while they were dancing. The eery, unusual sets they used and the end (spoiler, I guess? Haha!) when the guy (sorry don’t know their names :S) pulls his heart out (and they actually show us the heart! :o) seemed like the highlights of the video to me. The music video had an overall creepy, violent, intense vibe to it.  I wasn’t completely in love with the video. I thought it was okay, but I just didn’t think it was “unique” or super creative, but that might be me having too high of a standard. 😀 hehe I don’t think it was a bad video, but I don’t think it was a good video either, ja feel?

Overall, good song and okay video in my opinion! Would I download the song? Yeah! Do you disagree with me? What do you think about their new release? Do you have any 100% song recommendations? Let me know in the comments below! I”m sorry if I offended anyone with this post, but I hope you keep in mind that this is my opinion only, and I’d love to know what you think about it! Anyways, thank you so much for reading! I really appreciate it! ❤

UPDATE: Thanks to the suggestion by awesomesaucery, I checked out the dance version of the music video, which you can see here, and I thought I would include it in this post too! Overall, the dance moves were cool (especially the part at 2:19, and the 360 head turning thing) and their performance was interesting to watch too! Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments!

Hugs from your fellow K-Popper!
