Talking about Fantastic – Henry

Greetings, everyone! 🙂

I’m back and ready to talk about Fantastic by Henry! I’m going to have a rambling session at the end of this post, so make sure to read the whole thing! 😀 I’ve skipped quite a lot of releases for this one, so I hope it’s worth it! 🙂

Henry is under SM Entertainment, and is also part of Super Junior-M. He was born on October 11th, 1989. I personally really like Henry because Trap was an awesome, catchy song, but also because he is so hilarious on MBC’s Real Men. Mm, NECK SLICE! Haha 😛

Song: Well, what stood out the most to me (for being awesome) was quite obviously the violin in the song and since it is one of Henry’s many talents, I was quite happy that he was able to include it in his title track. I don’t know if it was actually him playing the violin in the song (I’m hoping it was) but it sounded great nonetheless. It takes a fun, unique spin on the song. Other than that, the song in general is very catchy and I’ll probably never say “It’s gonna be fantastic” the same way again after listening to this song. I feel like Fantastic will probably grow on me more, but as of now, I definitely have positive feelings about it.

Music Video: The video was cool, with all that was going on, but I wasn’t completely in love with it. I liked the inclusion of the violin in the choreography and that tube connecting thingy (so eloquent, right? 😛 which was a little weird, but I’ll go with it haha) as my favorite parts. The video wasn’t amazingly interesting to me, to be honest. 😛 The choreography seemed pretty cool though!

What did you guys think about this? Was it fantastic? :3 (Pun intended, because I love my puns) I’m going to have to say that it was a catchy song and the video was okay. I would download the song! 😀 Sorry this post isn’t too long or interesting 😦 I guess I’m lacking energy in this post. 😛 The interesting thing about this is that I’m watching Real Man as I’m drafting this post (It’s actually hilarious, you should check it out)! 😀 Hehe I am in love with Park Hyungsik and Henry in this show! ❤

Okay, now to the rambling part! I realized that my blog is not too personal or anything, and I’d like to change that. 😀 I was thinking of publishing posts about myself, like tags or other types and I was wondering on your input about that. 😀 I was also thinking of posting my bucket list (just for the fun of it, and to keep it on record somewhere) so yeah… just a possibility, but I’m hoping that it can help me create a stronger connection to the blog and to you guys. 😀 Anyways, I don’t know if you guys actually care but I’ll see what happens. 🙂 Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

Talking about Red Light – f(x)

Hey guys!

How have you all been? 🙂 Today’s Talking about is on f(x)’s Red Light! Yes, that’s right, f(x) is finally back after what seems like a very very long time! I think of the group as often having really fresh and unique concepts, and after seeing the teaser pictures, it seemed like Red Light would be like that too. Enough of the babbling (more to come of that at the end of the post!), let’s get to this title track!

f(x) is a group under SM Entertainment formed in 2009. The members consist of Victoria, Amber, Luna, Sulli and Krystal.

Song: Well….I must say, I’m not really in love with the song. Maybe it still has to grow on me and suddenly I’ll be super obsessed with it… As of now though, I don’t feel this way about the song. This isn’t to say that I have negative feelings about it, because that certainly isn’t the case. It is really cool (It seems quite sophisticated) and different from other songs I’ve listened to, which is definitely a plus side and added charm. It has an awesome and powerful sound to me, and what amazes me the most is how distinctive it is! What I mean by that is how much of a new take they’ve taken, which I don’t see (often, if ever) in the K-Pop scene. Let’s just say that Red Light isn’t my cup of tea (I do really like some parts, some of which are just plain cool and some that are catchy, but I’m not obsessed with the whole song), but I totally see how many people love it.

Video: Awesome video! There doesn’t seem to be a plot to the video (or I didn’t pick up on one at least :P) and I don’t say that as a criticism, but rather to talk about how this take seems to be the most common route for music videos in the K-pop scene nowadays, and that in this case, it allows for the video to develop itself to be aesthetically pleasing, or intriguing at the least. I loved the filters and the colorful projections (like the lines and shapes) on their face, as well as the lighting! They also look really gorgeous, even though it isn’t necessarily the conventional way that idols are styled. There’s a lot going on in this video but this causes attraction, and not confusion, for me. I guess what I’m trying to say, generally, is that I like the look they’re going for. 🙂

Seeing how varied the responses were to this release, I’m going to have to set myself on the middle ground because although I do recognize how much of a fresh, awesome concept they’ve brought after being away for so long (or what seems like a long time :P), I don’t think it necessarily fits within my musical preferences, which probably explains why I’m not so crazy about it. Otherwise, though, I’m happy that f(x) has made a comeback, and I’ll be looking forward to seeing what kinds of songs they have on this album! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and also that you’re having a great week! I’ll talk to you guys again soon, I promise! Make sure to leave me a comment until then! 🙂

P.S. Am I the only one who isn’t too fond of the new WordPress posting window? :S Meh, I guess I’ll get over it once I get used to the system. 😛

Talking about Overdose – Exo-K

Hey guys!

How have you all been? In case you missed the news, Exo released their (highly anticipated) comeback Overdose today! Today I’ll be talking about the Exo-K version, instead of the Exo-M version, but you can check out the latter here! What did I think about this new release? Keep reading to find out!

Exo is a group formed under SM Entertainment with 12 members, and they released their debut single in 2012. They are divided into the subunits Exo-K and Exo-M. The members consist of Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, Lay, Chen, and Tao.

A little disclaimer before I get into the actual talking: I know how big Exo is and how many fans they have, so I just wanted to make it clear that all these opinions in this post (emphasis on the word opinions) are my own, and my intentions are not to offend or hate on anyone with this post, or any of my other ones! Please don’t take my opinions too seriously, and don’t be upset at anything I say! 🙂 I’m a bit worried that I’m talking about this release pretty early on, but I hope you guys understand! ❤ Okay, now that I got that out of the way, let’s actually get started!

Song: What an awesome song! The first impression I got was that it’s powerful, and very detailed! (Does that make sense? :P) I don’t really know the right words to describe it, so I’ll try my best to be as eloquent as possible. I will say this though – they had a lot of little cool details and sounds that they incorporated in the song, and although I initially thought these things would overpower their singing, this didn’t happen at all, which amazed me! Their singing was awesome and the song is super catchy! I really like the chorus part especially, and I couldn’t help but want to sing along (or hum really) as well. I don’t think this is the right expression, but they have this strong, full sound that I personally really like. It’s the type of the song that had a lasting impact and was memorable to me. Not going to say much more, but it’s great and I love it!

Music Video: As for the music video, I’ll say that it was, in general, pretty cool! SM loves their large, oddly lighted rooms, but it was interesting to watch because it was really dramatic, yet captivating, and this is true especially for the dances. Speaking of their choreography, it was so creative and pretty epic in general! I loved so many things about it, like the drumming on the head as an example, and they were so well synchronized with each other! I mentioned Exo’s dance already in another post (Top 5 Dances one), and while I was already impressed with them then, I am even more so now! I can’t wait to see the live performances! Okay, getting back to the subject of the video, I was mesmerized by their dancing, and how precise, yet in sync, and fitting the dance moves were with the song. It made the video really entertaining to watch, and it kept me enticed during the whole duration of the video! I do have a few things I disliked and they are minor considering the video in a larger scheme, but I thought I’d mention it anyways. The first thing is the zooming (or warping, I can’t really tell) effect that happens often in the video, usually coordinated with their movement. At first, it didn’t bother me much, but as it got repetitive, it, personally, annoyed me, especially because it kind of threw me off, and disrupted my focus on the super cool dance routine. 😛 Another thing was the (overly) flashy lights that, similar to what I said about the other effect, were quite distracting. Other than that though, I loved the pass off of the camera (as I noted in the Growl dance practice video as well), and I was really impressed overall!

In general, I loved the song, and the video was cool, not to mention that the dance was epic! Would I download the song? You bet I will! 😉 What did you think? I know how eager everyone was about this video, so I want to know your opinion as well! Hope you enjoyed this post! 🙂

K-Pop Group of the Day: SHINee

Hey guys! 😀

How is everything? Wishing everything is going great! I have another K-Pop Group of the Day, and today’s post is on SHINee. When deciding which group to talk about, I just really choose any group that comes to mind, but let me know if there’s any specific group you’d like me to write about! Without further ado (my introductions have been quite short lately), let’s get started!

SHINee is a group managed under SM Entertainment that debuted in 2008. The members consist of Onew, Minho, Jonghyun, Key, and Taemin.

Favorite member? I say this question is tough to answer every time I do a K-Pop Group of the Day, but it really is hard to choose (except for my ultimate bias of course 😉 ). I really think every member is amazing and has their own strengths, but since I have choose one I’d probably say it’s either Key or Taemin. Key has recently really caught my attention because of his activities as part of ToHeart, and I think he’s a great performer! As for Taemin, he’s just awesome – singing and dancing wise. Both are amazing, as is every member in the group really. :3

Favorite song? SHINee has a lot, and I mean a lot, of great songs that I personally really enjoy, and this was difficult to pick, especially because I had a lot of songs that I wanted to include as my favorite, but there is one that I really love, even after all this time, and that is Replay. It makes me want to Replay the song (he..hehe…Yeah, sorry about that terrible pun 😛 ) Did you guys expect that to be my favorite? Probably not, since I just realized it has the least views out of all their music videos…Oh well, I still love it! Runner-ups for my favorite song would probably be Love Like Oxygen and Sherlock. :3 Once these songs start playing, I have to start singing along – it’s almost an instinctive response haha! UPDATE: I recently found another song by SHINee, which I’ll have to say is close up the list to Replay, and is even threatening to take its spot. 😛 That song is Symptoms from their Everybody album! It’s such an amazing song – listen to it! 😀

One thing that sets them apart from others? Definitely their singing and dance skills. That might sound quite obvious, but the reason I say this is because their singing is absolutely amazing, both in their recorded tracks and in live performances. Also, their choreography is always so creative and impressive, and they are such talented dancers! Both their dance skills and singing in their live performances are characteristics I find awesome about them. One great example of this is this live performance! Damn, SHINee, damn. I am very impressed.

Overall opinion? They are a remarkable group! I really like their songs and performances, not to mention the group in general, and their talent has already been proven to me. :3 As I have until now, I will look into their releases in the future, and I wish them the best in their activities and promotions (I’m pretty sure they’re on tour right now, so best of luck to them in that!).

What are your opinions about SHINee? Please let me know in the comments! I hope you all have a great week! :3 Thank you so much for checking out my blog, and I’ll talk to you guys later!
