How are you all doing? I’m in a really good mood right now and I hope you all are well too! 🙂 Today’s talking about is on a debut release that I personally was really looking forward to, and that is Akmu’s 200%! Watch it here! Keep reading to find out more.
Akdong Musician (aka Akmu) is a duo consisting of siblings Lee Chan Hyuk and Lee Soo Hyun. They were the winners of K-Pop Star Season 2, and are currently signed under YG Entertainment. Chan Hyuk was born on September 12th, 1996, and Soo Hyun was born on May 4, 1999 (wow I didn’t know she was this young :o) I think I was so excited for their debut because they had shown such promising things in the auditions. 😀 Let’s go right ahead and start talking about this release!
Song: I absolutely love it! 😀 It was a great song to showcase their unique music style, and I think that’s what makes it even more impressive. By the way, I’m totally mesmerized by Soo Hyun’s voice! :O I’m amazed every time I listen to her. It’s such a pure, clean sound, you know? (Hopefully someone agrees with me haha) They’re both very talented (that was quite evident in K-Pop Star 2) and it definitely shows through in the song too. Love love love the chorus part (seriously, so catchy), and I like the creative lyrics too. :3 I love the quirkiness of the song and, like their other performances on the show, the blend between their voices. I appreciated how different it was and how they successfully conveyed their own style in an awesome song. Overall I’m very happy with it and am very much impressed.
Music Video: As much as I loved this song, I loved this video too! When I first watched it, I was thinking to myself “That guy is really cute! Soo Hyun is cute! They look cute together! This is cute!” and then there was that plot twist (which I really wasn’t expecting) and then I just felt bad when it happened :(… Haha, but I really liked the video because of that plot twist because it made the video so much more interesting (although it was already nice to begin with). I loved the revelation of each scene, from how she wants it to be, to how it really is, by using the unfolding transition! Super cool! 😀 Also, it has lots of beautiful scenes and shots. It’s a very fun, cute, quirky video, like the song, and it’s very entertaining to watch 😀 I love the sibling playfulness they have in the video too hehe
Overall, I loved the song and the video, and am very happy with Akmu’s debut! They did not disappoint, and for that, I am glad. :3 Hehe what are your opinions? Definitely let me know in the comments!
Also, check out this live performance of theirs on K-Pop Star 3! I had chills even just at the beginning of the song. It’s amazing. 😮
By the way guys, on a totally unrelated note, I met Jinwoon from 2AM today!! :O And I even took a picture with him!
