K-Pop Group of the Day: GOT7

Hey everyone! I’m back with another post! 🙂 3 days in a row, woohoo! Haha! If you’ve read my previous “Talking about Delicious – ToHeart” post, you will know about the recent idea that I had of talking about a K-Pop group and my opinion of them. I didn’t really want to put two posts in a row talking about music videos, especially so early on in my blog, so I decided to try this out and see what you guys think! 😀

Today’s K-Pop Group of the Day (hopefully I’ll come up with a catchier title soon) is ….. GOT7! 🙂 For those of you who don’t know about them, GOT7 is JYP Entertainment’s new boy group that debuted this year. The members consist of JB (the leader), Mark, Jackson, BamBam, Jr., Youngjae, and Yugyeoum. I suggest you check out their debut single, Girls Girls Girls, if you haven’t already!

Before I start, I want you guys to know that I don’t know much about them… I mean yeah, I’ve listened to a couple of their songs and I’ve watched every single episode of Real GOT7, which you can check out here on JYP’s channel, and follow them on Twitter… Wow that’s actually a lot hahaha :p But really, since they’re a rookie group I’m not too familiar with them, but I thought it would be fitting to start this series with this popular rookie group, so let’s get started!

Favorite member? Hm, this is a tough one because, as I’ve mentioned before, I don’t know that much about each one of them. They’re all really charming in their own way :3 hahah I’d have to say Mark though, because look at his face! And his 애교 (pronounced: aegyo. definition: cute acts, I guess? haha don’t know how else to explain it :S) AND HIS DANCING! All the members are really great though 🙂

Favorite song? My favorite song of theirs is Playground. 😀 It kind of has an old-school k-pop feel to it.  (does that even make sense?) Haha I don’t know, I think it’s really nice though. I Like You is quite addictive too, especially that high pitched “난 니가 좋아” (translating to I like you, hence the title) in the background, which the more I listen to, the more I dig 😛

One thing that sets them apart from others? Probably their dancing! 🙂 You DEFINITELY have to check out this performance of theirs. The part at 0:48 kills me every time. I approve, hehe.

Overall opinion: Well, there was a lot of hype surrounding them before they debuted, but I think they’re quite talented, and although it’s a bit early on in their career, I’m impressed by what they’ve done until now, and I’ll probably watch out for their future albums and songs. I think I like them because of the Real GOT7 episodes, which does a great job of revealing their personalities, so you should check it out too if you want to know more about them!

GOT7 gets my seal of approval. Do they get yours too? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love what you guys think about this rising rookie group.

Also, what additional questions do you think I should add to the next K-Pop Group of the Day? Who should be the next group ? I’d love to get feedback from you guys :3 Hope you enjoyed this post! P.S.: Make sure to click all the links to get the full “experience”! 😀 Hehe

Thanks for reading! 🙂

Talking about Delicious – ToHeart

Welcome back to It’s Time to K-Pop! Today’s post, and my second post of all time, will be me discussing my opinions  on Delicious – ToHeart (Shinee’s Key and Infinite’s Woohyun)! If you haven’t watched it already, click here to watch it now!

The weather is really bad today here where I live, so I thought “What better way to enjoy this gloomy day than discussing my opinions about K-pop?” The answer is, there is none! 😀

As you may see from the lack of content on my blog, this is the first time I actually try something like this :S so I’m a bit confused on how I should structure it, but I’ll try the best I can! For this particular discussion, I’ll divide it into my opinions about the music, and the music video, but this is subject to change as I write more and (hopefully :D) get feedback from you guys!

So, without further ado, let’s get right into talking about the music video!

Music: Well, for the music, I don’t have much to say to be honest. I thought it was an okay song. I like the guitar parts and the “band” feel it had (do you get me?). Clearly, I’m not that great at explaining. I thought the chorus was nice, but I didn’t really find it an amazing, mindblowing song. I don’t not like the song, I just didn’t love it. (so articulate, I know)

On the other hand, the video….

Music Video: I LOVED THE MUSIC VIDEO! I actually really really really liked it. I loved the whole feel of the music video. I thought it was really cool when they went through the unusual objects in the old, dusty room, playing around with what they found. The stop-motion was awesome, and the “book” for both Key and Woohyun was nice as well. The impression I got from the scenes, especially in the rooms, is a childishness, playfulness between the two, despite their competition to win over the girl. And guurl, they were looking polished and fiiiine in those scenes. Haha, but really, the “introduction”, if that’s even what it’s called, was awesome, and I get the feeling that they’re supposed to be opposites, like the sun and moon on their respective books early on into the video. I really really liked the set, the home-y feel they had to the scenes in the rooms, the bunk bed placed in opposite directions, the awesome props, etc. Another thing I want to mention is the vibrant colors of the settings, which I thought made the video all the more pleasant. I’m not even going to lie, the explosion of paint when they’re jumping was really cool too. I don’t know why but I liked the “Milky Way Diner” and the pretty galaxy sky, although I don’t know what it has to do with the song or video. Overall, the sets, props, mood, were all AWESOME in my opinion, but I do think it lacked a bit of development in story, but hey I’m not complaining because the visuals were FREAKING GREAT.

Oh, and how must I forget the chemistry and bromance between the two in this video…. Man, if I was their fans, I would be dying over this video, and I can already imagine all the fans out there fangirling over it. Hahaha it was cute :3 and it probably was one of the things many fans enjoyed the most. Additionally, the extra footage with the credits was a good idea, and the bromance in this part was so entertaining to watch haha :p

Overall: Okay song, awesome visuals in the video! I approve. 🙂 Let me know what you guys think about Delicious!

I mean because, obviously, love is nutritious right? 😉

Hugs from your fellow K-popper!

P.S.: Sorry if this post was hard to follow and all over the place :p As I’ve mentioned already, this is my first actual post discussing a music video, and I didn’t really know how to approach it. I’m open to any suggestions! Tell me what you thought about it! Also, I’m thinking of starting a weekly(-ish?) post about a specific artist/band in K-pop, and talking about my favorite member/songs/characteristics/etc. about them. Would you guys be interested in this?

By the way, (yes I talk a lot) am I the only one excited for Jackie Chan’s JJCC? I mean come on guys, it’s Jackie Chan! And he’s preparing a K-pop group!! Okay, I’m probably the only one freaking out about it. Thanks for reading if you’ve gone through all this babbling, and I’ll talk to you guys later! ❤

First Post! :D

Hi guys! 😀 (super excited to be writing this)

Welcome to my new blog, It’s Time to K-Pop! I wanted to make a formal(-ish) introduction to this new adventure that I’m embarking on. Because this is the first blog I’ve ever made, I really don’t know what I’m doing 😦 but I’m working on it and hopefully it’ll look better in the next few weeks!

So you guys are probably wondering, what is this blog, and what does she want to do with this? Well, I have a small (more like huge) obsession with K-pop, and I wanted to share my passions with others, and listen to what other people have to say about things taking place in the K-pop community. :3

It’s Time to K-Pop is going to be a blog filled with my opinions (not anyone else’s) about new K-Pop idols, songs, music videos, tours, and anything related to this area! Hopefully, I’ll post at least once a month, probably much more often because I love K-pop so much, and I’ll try to be as active as possible! 😀

I actually hesitated when considering to make this blog, simply because I didn’t know if I would be able to go on with this, and I’m kinda scared of the hate I’ll probably get for my opinions :S Either way, I thought it’d be a great opinion to reach out to fellow K-poppers out there. Please don’t take anything I post too seriously 😦 It’ll be all out of fun!

I’m excited for the journey ahead, and I really hope you guys will stick around to be part of it!

See you soon with hopefully news or a review of some type!! 😀

Do you have any suggestions for what my first ever review/news post should be about? Let me know!

Hugs from your fellow K-pop lover!
