K-Pop Group of the Day: Beast

Hello everyone! 🙂

Since I haven’t published posts from other segments, I’ve decided to make up for the lack of those posts by doing one today! 😀 The group I’ll be focusing on is Beast! I personally have been a fan of Beast for quite a long time, and although I guess I could still be considered one, I’m definitely not as obsessed with them as I was around 2011 or so (I believe that’s the year of my crazy fangirling haha :P). Either way, in homage of their success with Good Luck, let’s get to talking about the group!

Favorite member? If you asked me this a few years ago (when I was obsessed with them), I would’ve answered Kikwang without hesitation. Now (that I’m not so obsessed with them), I’d probably have to say that I don’t have a solid favorite out of the group, but if I had to choose one I’d probably choose Yoseob because of his amazing singing. 🙂

Favorite song? Beast has so many awesome songs. Really. In fact, Good Luck is great too! 😀 Out of all their songs though, my favorite would have to be, hands down, Beautiful. It’s my favorite because this super catchy song made me become a fan of Beast, and with performances from it, I familiarized myself with the group. You definitely should listen to it if you haven’t already! It’s a different style (definitely) from Good Luck, which you might not be used to, but it’s nonetheless my favorite until now.

One interesting detail/story about the group? I’d like to note that I’ve slightly broadened this question (which used to ask about one thing that sets the group apart) because I felt like I wanted a question in which I could expand on stories or details (as the question says haha) about that particular group, whether it be something I’ve experienced or I’ve seen online in a performance, concert, etc.! 🙂 So yeah, to answer this new question… Other than their amazing performances, I would have to say that an interesting story about the group is the concert I went to when they were in my area! I believe it was around 2011, if I’m not mistaken, so it was a little while back. Their performance was amaaazing, but Kikwang (who was my favorite member at the time) was injured, so he couldn’t really perform 😦 He just sat in a chair instead haha! It was actually a United Cube…Concert? Something like that haha so 4minute, G.NA, and Beast came (because at that time, the other groups hadn’t debuted yet… I believe? I don’t know, I have a terrible memory :P). They were all really great and it was a good experience 🙂 especially because I was so close to the stage and the members hehe. It was sweaty and there was a lot of pushing, but I guess it was worth it since I was such a big fan of them at that time hehe. :3

Overall opinion? I really like this group! I would say that my loss of “interest” (for lack of a better word) in the group from when I was a hardcore fan (b2uty lol if you will) to now is not because of a decline in the quality of their music, but rather a personal change, in which I basically stopped keeping up with groups as much as I did before (which is true about MBLAQ as well if you see my other post. I became a fan of MBLAQ after I had lost interest in Beast :3). Nonetheless, their music is great and I’m happy as long as they release awesome songs as they have until now. 😀

What do you guys think about Beast? Make sure to check out my Talking about on both Good Luck and No More! 🙂 I’d love to see your comments answering these questions about Beast too! Thanks so much to everyone who has been reading and checking out my blog! ❤

K-Pop Group Of The Day: SISTAR

Hello guys!

I know I haven’t been posting in a while and I apologize for that. I don’t want you guys to think I’m slacking off (because I’m really not :(), but I just didn’t think it would be appropriate after the tragedy that occurred in South Korea. Please keep all those affected in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time and help or support them if you can.

Thank you for being patient. ❤ Today’s post will be a K-Pop Group of the Day on the awesome girl group SISTAR. SISTAR is a group under Starship Entertainment, and they debuted in 2010. The members consist of Hyorin, Dasom, Bora, and Soyou.

Looking gorgeous! 😉 Image taken from soompi.com. All rights go to the respective owners!

Favorite member? Well, the group only has 4 members which seems to be less than the average number of members, and because of this, I think it’s easier (for lack of a better word) to get to know the members better. That being said, I really like all of them because they are so talented, but I’d have to say that it’s either Hyorin because of her amazing voice and talent, or Soyou because of her great singing, but also all the awesome collaborations she is part of. One example of this is Some – JungGiGo & Soyou (among others which I will talk about soon!). Check it out!

Favorite song? This question wasn’t as difficult to answer as it was for other groups I’ve talked about (and I don’t really know why because I like all of their songs). My favorite SISTAR song is Loving U because it’s such a sweet, cute, catchy song, but also because it brings back memories from my trip to Korea in 2012. I’m not even kidding, every other shop or café I went in had this song playing in the background. :3 Either way, I think it’s a great summer song. What do you guys think? You can click here to check it out! Also, another song I want to talk about is SISTAR19 – Ma Boy, which you can check out here! It isn’t technically a SISTAR song, but let’s just say it counts since SISTAR19 is their subunit :3. I’m mentioning it because not only is it an awesome song, but the dance was memorable, for me at the least. I remember people around me were obsessed with it, and most people tried to copy it 😛 I think it’s a catchy song that you should listen to if you haven’t already.

One thing that sets them apart from others? I think the answer to this would probably have to be their dancing (as they always have super fun ones to follow) topped with each member’s great vocals!

Overall opinion? Well, I think SISTAR is great, based on what I know of their super catchy songs, fun dances, and great singing! I have yet to be greatly disappointed by their releases and as of now, I am impressed with their releases and accomplishments. 🙂

What are your opinions about SISTAR? Let me know in the comments! Thank you so much for reading and I’ll talk to you guys soon.

Hugs from your fellow K-Popper. ❤

K-Pop Group of the Day: SHINee

Hey guys! 😀

How is everything? Wishing everything is going great! I have another K-Pop Group of the Day, and today’s post is on SHINee. When deciding which group to talk about, I just really choose any group that comes to mind, but let me know if there’s any specific group you’d like me to write about! Without further ado (my introductions have been quite short lately), let’s get started!

SHINee is a group managed under SM Entertainment that debuted in 2008. The members consist of Onew, Minho, Jonghyun, Key, and Taemin.

Favorite member? I say this question is tough to answer every time I do a K-Pop Group of the Day, but it really is hard to choose (except for my ultimate bias of course 😉 ). I really think every member is amazing and has their own strengths, but since I have choose one I’d probably say it’s either Key or Taemin. Key has recently really caught my attention because of his activities as part of ToHeart, and I think he’s a great performer! As for Taemin, he’s just awesome – singing and dancing wise. Both are amazing, as is every member in the group really. :3

Favorite song? SHINee has a lot, and I mean a lot, of great songs that I personally really enjoy, and this was difficult to pick, especially because I had a lot of songs that I wanted to include as my favorite, but there is one that I really love, even after all this time, and that is Replay. It makes me want to Replay the song (he..hehe…Yeah, sorry about that terrible pun 😛 ) Did you guys expect that to be my favorite? Probably not, since I just realized it has the least views out of all their music videos…Oh well, I still love it! Runner-ups for my favorite song would probably be Love Like Oxygen and Sherlock. :3 Once these songs start playing, I have to start singing along – it’s almost an instinctive response haha! UPDATE: I recently found another song by SHINee, which I’ll have to say is close up the list to Replay, and is even threatening to take its spot. 😛 That song is Symptoms from their Everybody album! It’s such an amazing song – listen to it! 😀

One thing that sets them apart from others? Definitely their singing and dance skills. That might sound quite obvious, but the reason I say this is because their singing is absolutely amazing, both in their recorded tracks and in live performances. Also, their choreography is always so creative and impressive, and they are such talented dancers! Both their dance skills and singing in their live performances are characteristics I find awesome about them. One great example of this is this live performance! Damn, SHINee, damn. I am very impressed.

Overall opinion? They are a remarkable group! I really like their songs and performances, not to mention the group in general, and their talent has already been proven to me. :3 As I have until now, I will look into their releases in the future, and I wish them the best in their activities and promotions (I’m pretty sure they’re on tour right now, so best of luck to them in that!).

What are your opinions about SHINee? Please let me know in the comments! I hope you all have a great week! :3 Thank you so much for checking out my blog, and I’ll talk to you guys later!

Hugs from your fellow K-Popper! ❤

K-Pop Group of the Day: MBLAQ

Hello everyone!

Finally it’s Friday! Have a happy, happy rest of the day, and make the most out of it! Today’s post is going to be a K-Pop Group of the Day about MBLAQ, in honor of their recent promotions for Be a man. Click here if you haven’t watched it already. In case you didn’t know, I’ve already posted a Talking about on this song not too long ago, so go check that out too while you’re at it! :3

Happy MBLAQ :3 Image taken from soompi.com. All rights go to the respective owners!

I wanted to give a little bit of a backstory before I actually started giving my opinions. Although I was quite obsessed with MBLAQ at one point, I’m not as crazy about them now as I used to be, but I’m still a fan. 😛 Now that their comeback is here, I want to share my opinions on the group so, like anything I post, feel free to let me know about your opinions as well! Oh by the way, fun fact, I met MBLAQ once 😀 They were literally right in front of me, so that was really cool 🙂 And yes, they’re just as handsome in person haha!

Members: Lee Joon, Thunder, Mir, G.O, and Seungho

– MBLAQ stands for Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality. Part of J Tune Entertainment, debuted in 2009.

Favorite member? This is a tough question… Hm… Well I guess I’ll start with explaining by explaining a few things. First off, when I first found the group and started liking them, which is a couple of years ago, my favorite member was Lee Joon. :3 He’s so so charming haha. And he’s a great dancer too! Then, I started really looking into their songs, their performances, their appearances on TV shows, etc. and I stumbled upon the TV show Hello Baby, which basically is set upon a situation in which k-pop groups live with children as their fathers/mothers. Because of this show, I started really liking Mir because of his playful, funny personality, not to mention his awesome rapping. Recently, however, Seungho has been catching my attention, especially because of his vocals in Be a man. The conclusion of all that rambling is to say that it’s a pretty close tie between Lee Joon and Mir, although I do really like all of the members. :3

Favorite song? Okay, since I already told you guys I was a fan of theirs, you might be able to guess that it was hard to choose a favorite, because they have a lot of great songs, like Be a man which I was really impressed with. One song in particular, however, is a little bit more preferred by me, and that is Cry. Click here if you haven’t listened to this awesome song. SO GOOD. Seriously. It brings back memories, and even though it’s a bit of an oldie, I still think it’s great. Be a man has been growing on me even more, and it’s coming close to being, if not already, one of my favorites. I liked almost all of their songs, and I definitely think you should check them out when you have the chance.

One thing that sets them apart from others? I think they’re music style sets them apart. They produce “absolute quality” (hahaha) music that really, I rarely dislike too much. Also, they are really great performers and have a powerful presence on stage. That sounds so cliché, but it’s true you guys :3

Overall opinion? Well, as I’ve already mentioned a few times, I was their fan, I am their fan, and I’ll probably be their fan in the future too, unless they release something terrible (which I hope they won’t). To be completely honest, I’ve lost some interest compared to when I was obsessed with them, probably because I was busy and couldn’t keep up with their schedules, promotions, and what not, but I’m really impressed by their new release nonetheless, as I am with their other songs. I know that I can rely on them for good songs, and Be a man wasn’t an exception. I really like MBLAQ, and I think they’re great :3

What do you think about MBLAQ? Do you hold the same opinions about them as I do? Let me know in the comments! Thanks so much for reading, and enjoy your weekend. 🙂

K-Pop Group of the Day: Girls’ Generation

Hello everyone!

I’m back, and today I have a K-Pop Group of the Day post about Girls’ Generation (aka SNSD)! In honor of them wrapping up their promotions for Mr. Mr. this weekend, I decided it would be fitting to talk about them now! Oh, by the way, I hope you guys are liking the posts recently! :3 I do want more diversity and variation in my posts so I’ll work on that, but as you guys might be able to tell, I’ve been trying to alternate between the different categories. So far, Talking about’s have been the most frequent, but please let me know if you think I should so more of another one! 🙂 Also, I would love any suggestions of posts you guys want me to do! Okay, now that I’ve talked about that, let’s go right ahead and talk about SNSD!

Image

Although most of you probably know about this group, I’ll give a brief explanation for those who don’t! Girls’ Generation is a 9 member group formed in 2007 by SM Entertainment. The members consist of Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun. As I’ve mentioned briefly, their recent comeback Mr. Mr. was released on February 24th. I don’t know why but I felt like their promotions were so short 😦 maybe that’s just my impression!

Favorite member? My favorite member is Taeyeon, without a doubt. She’s beautiful, adorable, and an amazing singer. To be honest, that can be said about most of the members of this group, but something about her is just so cute. :3 I really love her laugh! Oh my, this is so old, but click here to listen to my favorite song of hers. The memories are coming back :’) Haha! Do you guys remember when she was with Jung Hyung Don on We Got Married? (What is all these references to years ago? 😮 Is this a Throwback Wednesday Post? 😛 Hahaha) I loved them so much; they were my favorite couple. Overall, I just really love her quirky, adorable personality and her pretty voice!

Favorite song? I’d say my favorite song of Girls’ Generation is probably Kissing You, which is relevant to the whole Throwback Wednesday theme I have going on right here. DO YOU GUYS SEE THE QUALITY OF THIS VIDEO :O So old! But anyways, it’s such a sweet, cute song :3 But really, I have a lot of favorites, like Genie, Gee, Hoot, etc. So many to choose from!

One thing that sets them apart from others? Definitely their super fun songs and catchy dances! That isn’t one thing, but you get what I’m trying to say. :p

Overall opinion? I really like them! They were probably, if my (terrible) memory is not failing me, one of the first girl groups I got into. I think their rise in fame coincided with when I started to get into K-pop! Since then and still true today, they’re an awesome group with super catchy songs! Although I’m not the type of fan that keeps up to date with all of their promotional activities, I do like their performances and them as a group in general.

What are your opinions on this group? Let me know in the comments! Also, I’d like to do K-Pop Group of the Day posts about more well known groups too, but I also think it would be fun if I included groups that are not as widely known, so please leave any suggestions in the comments! 🙂 Again, thank you so much for reading! I’ll be back with another post tomorrow!

Hugs from your fellow K-Popper ❤

K-Pop Group of the Day: Big Bang

Hey everyone!

Guess who’s back with another K-Pop Group of the Day? 😀 You guessed it, It’s Time to K-Pop! I’m here to post about a very famous group and that is Big Bang! How are you guys liking the posts on my blog so far? I think I’ve got into the schedule of posting (although I can’t guarantee I’ll post as often as I do now, which is everyday haha :3) and what “categories” of posts I’m going to do, but I still would really love other ideas so let me know what you think! I always have to babble before I start a post :S but let’s get right into it!

Image
Image taken from crunchyroll.com. All rights go to the respective owners! 2008 Big Bang 😮 Memories haha! I intentionally chose an old pic of them. 🙂

Members: Taeyang, T.O.P, Seungri, G Dragon, Daesung

– Part of Y.G. Entertainment, formed in 2006

Favorite Member: This one is a toughie… I mean all of them are great, but I have to choose between G.D. and T.O.P?! 😮 Although I love them both, I’m going to have to go with G.D., though, because lately I’ve been really impressed with his music, like his singles and what he produces, and I’m staying true to the love I had in him in like 2008ish :3 hahah I can’t be the only one who thinks he has his own unique charm 😀 and I like that about him!

Favorite song? Oh man… Big Bang has so many good songs. You’d think indecisive me would have difficulty with this one, but this one comes fairly easily. Definitely Lies – Big Bang (bringing it back to 2009, aw yeah) I’d even say it’s one of my favorite k-pop songs…. of all time! 😮 It’s obviously different from the K-pop today but I just love it too much either way :3 You really have to listen to it if you haven’t already!

One thing that sets them apart from others? Definitely their charisma, I’d have to say. This, along with their talent of course 😀

Overall opinion? Love them. They were the group that got me into K-pop a long time ago, and their music doesn’t disappoint me now. Although I don’t really follow them with the same obsessiveness I used to back then (hehe), I still look forward to their songs and performances. They have this charm and allure that I can’t quite explain. :3 Cheesy huh? Well, they have quality music and talent to top it off. 🙂

Here’s a more recent pic of them, since I felt bad for only including an old one :3 Image taken from cdn.popdust.com. All rights go to the respective owners!

What a short K-pop Group of the Day post! D: Sorry about that, but I tried to be succinct, for once in my posts haha! I didn’t feel like there was a necessity to be redundant. I’d love to know your opinion about them! Who should I do next? How often should I do these? Let me know your feedback! Again, thanks for reading! ❤ I really do appreciate it.

Hugs from your fellow K-Popper! :3

K-Pop Group of the Day: GOT7

Hey everyone! I’m back with another post! 🙂 3 days in a row, woohoo! Haha! If you’ve read my previous “Talking about Delicious – ToHeart” post, you will know about the recent idea that I had of talking about a K-Pop group and my opinion of them. I didn’t really want to put two posts in a row talking about music videos, especially so early on in my blog, so I decided to try this out and see what you guys think! 😀

Today’s K-Pop Group of the Day (hopefully I’ll come up with a catchier title soon) is ….. GOT7! 🙂 For those of you who don’t know about them, GOT7 is JYP Entertainment’s new boy group that debuted this year. The members consist of JB (the leader), Mark, Jackson, BamBam, Jr., Youngjae, and Yugyeoum. I suggest you check out their debut single, Girls Girls Girls, if you haven’t already!

Before I start, I want you guys to know that I don’t know much about them… I mean yeah, I’ve listened to a couple of their songs and I’ve watched every single episode of Real GOT7, which you can check out here on JYP’s channel, and follow them on Twitter… Wow that’s actually a lot hahaha :p But really, since they’re a rookie group I’m not too familiar with them, but I thought it would be fitting to start this series with this popular rookie group, so let’s get started!

Favorite member? Hm, this is a tough one because, as I’ve mentioned before, I don’t know that much about each one of them. They’re all really charming in their own way :3 hahah I’d have to say Mark though, because look at his face! And his 애교 (pronounced: aegyo. definition: cute acts, I guess? haha don’t know how else to explain it :S) AND HIS DANCING! All the members are really great though 🙂

Image
Mark 😀 Picture taken from marktuon.tumblr.com. All rights to go the respective owners!

Favorite song? My favorite song of theirs is Playground. 😀 It kind of has an old-school k-pop feel to it.  (does that even make sense?) Haha I don’t know, I think it’s really nice though. I Like You is quite addictive too, especially that high pitched “난 니가 좋아” (translating to I like you, hence the title) in the background, which the more I listen to, the more I dig 😛

One thing that sets them apart from others? Probably their dancing! 🙂 You DEFINITELY have to check out this performance of theirs. The part at 0:48 kills me every time. I approve, hehe.

Overall opinion: Well, there was a lot of hype surrounding them before they debuted, but I think they’re quite talented, and although it’s a bit early on in their career, I’m impressed by what they’ve done until now, and I’ll probably watch out for their future albums and songs. I think I like them because of the Real GOT7 episodes, which does a great job of revealing their personalities, so you should check it out too if you want to know more about them!

GOT7 gets my seal of approval. Do they get yours too? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love what you guys think about this rising rookie group.

Also, what additional questions do you think I should add to the next K-Pop Group of the Day? Who should be the next group ? I’d love to get feedback from you guys :3 Hope you enjoyed this post! P.S.: Make sure to click all the links to get the full “experience”! 😀 Hehe

Thanks for reading! 🙂
